Shearwater, Denny Island, B.C. 08.26.2013

While we thought, based on the evening weather reports, that there may be legs today that could get ruff, it ended up being a very pleasant trip into port.

The weather report called for small craft warnings with winds between 35-55 mph so we planned today’s journey staying out of open water choosing a more protected route into Shearwater.

We left Rescue Cove and continued south on Mathieson Channel, through Reid Passage, onto Seaforth Channel and into Shearwater which is located at the head of Lama Passage.

At one point up ahead several humpback whales where breaching.  Unfortunately they were too far for good photos.

Our plans are to spend 2 days in port doing the usual chores.

For dinner we made fish & chips with the last of the fresh halibut.  We cut up “chips” from our potatoes and made beer batter for the “fish”.

The meal was shared with Jeff & Gail on S/V Sea Witch, whom we met at Rescue Bay and traveled with today.
